Thanks to Cate Cauguiran, John Garcia, and the ABC7 Chicago Digital Team for covering our local advocacy and the need for prudent leadership to meet the needs of our students. While the latest update from IDPH and ISBE is a welcome (but long-overdue dissemination), there is much work to be done in our local school districts that have had the autonomy to best meet the needs of their students. A transparent and cohesive plan for the coming months is critical to address the pandemic achievement gaps and the social-emotional regression of students. As a community, it is imperative to assess the aptitude and platforms of those whom we entrust to serve our students.
It would be a privilege to be part of the journey that will move us beyond 2020 to ensure every student is inspired to reach their greatest potential.
The 9-district rally "UNITE for the KIDS" is being held this Sunday, March 14th at 11am at the Naperville Free Speech Pavilion. The event is family-friendly and will be a wonderful show of community empowerment as we advance beyond the pandemic. It's a wonderful occasion to come together and show that we aren't alone in advocating for our future generation. Onward and upward!
